Hello all.

Believe it or not, after a year and a half of this list's existence,
the development team actually has some news to report on. How about that?

A while back, Sabahattin suggested developing freesoft under netbsd
<http://www.netbsd.org>, instead of under gnu/linux. At the time, I
did some googling, and was under the impression that the state of
netbsd for the braillenote's hardware was no better off then the state
of linux development.

However, I stand corrected on this, due to some URL's that Sabahattin
provided on the notelinux-devel list. It turns out that not only does
netbsd have the hardware support that linux doesn't have, but the
netbsd development for our particular hardware is also on-going, which
cannot be said in the case of linux.

Sabahattin of course, is all for switching to netbsd, and I have just
seconded him on this, after looking at the web pages he mentioned.

In short, while freesoft is still a ways away from existing, its
development should start progressing, instead of stagnating like it
has till now.

Greg
